The Lab Scheduling Add-on integrates all relevant logistical data

As part of the startup process, the system reads all relevant logistical data from the SAP ERP system, stores it in a local LiveCache on the user's computer and makes it available to the user there independently of module or system limits. This enables the execution of simulations, which are evaluated and the results written as a unit into the SAP ERP system. In this process the system uses the standard consistency and authorization checking by SAP ERP.

The software is implemented as a genuine Add-on to an SAP ERP system. Genuine Add-on means that the master and transaction data of the SAP ERP system that are relevant for the laboratory planning are transferred without modification or addition from the SAP ERP system into the RAM of a PC. The Add-on then displays the data, making dependencies and structures visible. The user can perform simulations and save the results completely or partially back into the SAP ERP system as required. In addition the user can always "reach through" into the source system as required, i.e. call up master and transaction data using a transaction.

Properties and elements of the interface:

• The interface is configurable and accordingly can be structured according to the user's needs. This allows an individual color scheme and the display of relevant information
• The Gantt charts can be smoothly zoomed for daily, weekly and monthly plans
• One click on the top of each browser column allows sorting, search and filter functions for rapid overviews in the case of large data quantities
• Export functions are available to MS Excel or for printing out information
• Grouped workplaces and hierarchies can be displayed as a histogram
• The layout is transparent and so guarantees rapid and trouble free induction

Implementation concept

• No additional data outside of SAP ERP are necessary
• The system uses only available SAP ERP infrastructures, nomenclature, authorization and backup concepts
• The available inspection plans are extended by capacity information, so that a gentle, rolling implementation is possible
• QM processes relevant to validation are not affected, the solution is phased in as a planning system
